Cultivating a House of Prayer

Luke 19:46 – “He said to them, ‘The Scripture declares, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.'”

2 Corinthians 6:16 – “…we are the temple of the living God.”

As a believer, you are called to be person of prayer, a vessel hosting the Presence of God wherever you go. You must be sensitive to Holy Spirit’s voice within you, obedient to His promptings. In a world filled with distractions, it’s easy to let chaos cloud your judgment and drown out the Spirit’s leading. Instead of prioritizing prayer, do you often find yourself consumed by your phone and television, neglecting the sacred space within you.

Yet, Scripture reminds you that you are the temple of the living God. He dwells within you, longing to commune with you. To truly honor God’s presence, you must cultivate a lifestyle of prayer, filling your inner sanctuary with more of Him and less of yourself. Galatians 2:20 speaks to this transformation: “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”

Therefore, commit to moments of prayer throughout each day, allowing Holy Spirit to lead you. As you cleanse your temple and make it a house of prayer, may His presence be evident in all you do. Carry His name and His presence, radiating the love and power of God to a world in need.
