Embracing God’s Presence

1 Chronicles 13:14 – “The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house for three months, and the Lord blessed his household and everything he had.”

John 9:39-41 – “Jesus said, ‘For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.’ Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, ‘What? Are we blind too?’ Jesus said, ‘If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.'”

God’s presence brings blessings into your life. When you invite God into every area of your life and commit to living in a way that pleases Him, His blessings will be upon you. According to 1 Chronicles 13:14, everything you possess will also be blessed. Reflect on this thought: “How you perceive something shows if you can truly see it or not.” In John 9:39, Jesus told the blind man, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.” In verse 41, He says, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty. But you remain guilty because you claim you can see.”

Consider this: Do you call things the way they are, or do you call things according to what the Word says they are? If you know the truth, the truth will set you free. To know the truth and then turn from the truth it is sin. Seek righteousness, and God will give you insight into His Word. If you do not thirst for it, you will not receive it. It is up to you.

When someone is unaware of scriptures such as “My God shall supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19) or “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13), or “Cast all your cares and anxieties on Him because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7), there is mercy for them. However, there is judgment for those who know the truth but refuse to believe it, walk in it, or willfully despise it.

What does this mean? If you hear the Word but do not act on it, you are merely a hearer and not a doer. God desires to bless His people, but it is up to you to carry out His plan and welcome His presence into your life. Ask yourself, “Am I open to all of God? Is my spirit receptive to His Word?”

Embrace God’s presence and live according to His Word, and His blessings will be upon you and all that you have.
